The Highway Department is responsible for maintaining highways owned by the Town of Groveland; as well as Livingston County roads and New York State roads under winter snow removal agreement. They provide for a safe and efficient highway system.

Reporting Street Light Problems
If you notice a street light in the Town of Groveland that is out or flickering, please report the problem to Groveland Town Clerk office at 585-243-1750. You will be asked to provide the following information:
- Street location of problem light
- Nearest intersecting street
- House number closest to problem light
- Pole number (very helpful)
- Describe problem with light
- Your name, address and phone number (in case National Grid needs to follow up with you)
HOW DO I REQUEST FILL DIRT FROM THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT?
Anyone who would like fill dirt from road ditch cleaning projects is invited to fill out request form and return to town office
Depending on the weather, the Highway Department will conduct an extensive ditching program throughout the summer and early fall months.
This is not quality topsoil and may contain rocks and other roadside ditch debris.
Calling the Highway Office early mornings before 7:00 a.m. are best. A message may be left on the answering machine and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
